IKA is a federation of national Korczak committees and circles. It brings together dozens of organizations from 6 continents. We work to popularize the activities and working methods of Janusz Korczak, including editing and translating his works.

AWARD FOR INTERNATIONAL ACTIVITY PROMOTING JANUSZ KORCZAK
Prof. Mark A. Bernheim, retired professor at Miami University in the state of Ohio, Visiting Professor at Maria Grzegorzewska University in Warsaw. Ami Magen, educator and director of the Hadassah Neurim Youth Village, a unique educational institution working with youth in Israel.
The Korczak Award has been presented since 2022 by the Korczak Award Chapter, established by the Korczak University – Academy of Applied Sciences, in cooperation with the International Janusz Korczak Association (IKA) and the Polish Janusz Korczak Association.
The purpose of the award is to promote institutions and individuals who are guided by Korczak’s values in their work and who are sensitive to the needs of children and youth. Each year, authors of books and academic works on Janusz Korczak are also recognized.
For the outstanding scholarship and achievements in publications about children’s rights, the recognition was given to Dr. hab. Urszula Markowska-Manista
